Our History
The Patrick story starts in 1892 when Eugene Beneteau opened his shoe and leather factory in a small town in France. In the 1920s, his son Patrice took over and made shoes for his local football team. Patrice did such an amazing job that word soon spread to other teams, and the Patrick brand was born.
Patrick's iconic two stripes have been a part of our footwear and sports wear since the 1930s when they were introduced to strengthen the shoe. Now widely copied amongst other brands, the famous two stripes pioneered by Patrick are still here today.
Over the years, Patrick has supported many great sporting legends across football, rugby and cycling including England footballer Kevin Keegan in the 1980s. Other notable Patrick athletes include French football legend Michel Platini as well as five-time Tour de France winners Jacques Anquetil and Bernard Hinault.
Now 130 years old, few brands speak with more authority or credibility than Patrick. The famous brand with its iconic history and two stripes is now back with a new collection of sportwear and footwear inspired by the football terraces. And we're just getting started.
